The main purpose of health education is to give students the knowledge & also the guidelines to develop and adapt a healthy behavior. The school is the best place for imparting health education to children. It is in the school that the health of children can be improved best and that the practices and attitudes can be molded and guided by their teachers. School education programs will be an effective means of improving knowledge and alsolead to healthy behavior among adolescents. Therefore we have the responsibility to make students aware of the etiquettes &values and make them socially responsible.

  • Health Education program will help students learn various practices they will use to make healthy choices throughout their lifetime. This program will result in positive changes in behavior that lower/avoid student risks around: Alcohol, Tobacco, and other drugs, injury prevention, mental and emotional health, nutrition, physical activity, prevention of diseases & sexuality and family life.

Training to the Students

We will share the relevant materials. The module is self-explanatory and there will be training for the students on October.

Per batch 50 Students, the boys & girls will be attending the session separately for 9th to 12th STD students. Male volunteers will conduct the session for boys and lady volunteers for girls (This is common for 3rd to 8th SDT students). The Volunteer may take one or maximum two sessions per day. When two volunteers take alternate parts of a session, it will be interesting for the children. It will also be less tiring and more interesting for the volunteers as well. So it would be best to send volunteers in pairs for each individual session, with an option for the same pair to take the second session also in the same school in the afternoon.

Capabilities needed from Volunteers

The Volunteer should not feel shy to deliver the message, fluent in talking in Tamil, an interest to do such awareness programs, ready to answer some sensitive questions which will be asked by both girls & boys during the session (9th to 12th SDT).
